The other day I got a set of Pro Moto Billet Fastway F5 footpegs installed on my WR250R. This might just be my favorite mod to the bike so far. The factory pegs are OK, but they are a bit on the narrow side. These Pro Moto Billet Fastway footpegs are considerably wider and have more aggressive serrate pin cleats, not to mention three rows of them (11 in each footpeg).
Installation:
Installation is pretty simple. The first thing you have to do is install the 11 serrate pin cleats in each footpeg. PMB includes loctite and a special tool for you to use. Once you get that done, you need to remove the stock footpegs. The left side comes off real easily, but the right one takes a bit longer since you need to move the rear brake lever out of the way. Once that's done, it's just a matter of putting on the new PMB F5 footpegs and then playing around with the various adjustments (see below) to suit your riding.
Adjustability:
One of the biggest advantages to these footpegs is their adjustability. They incorporate a patent pending Universal Collar System that allows you to choose from standard or lowboy seat-to-peg height positions. I went with the Lowboy position, which is slightly lower than stock, and I like how that setting positions the pegs in relation to the shift and brake lever. In addition to that, there is a FKMS (Fast Kamber Mounting System) which allows you to adjust the upward and downward tilt of the pegs using a bolt and shims on the backside of the peg. I ended up going with no shims, which keep the footpegs flat.
Final Thoughts:
I love these things! The wider platform feels much better than the narrow stock pegs, especially when standing up. I also like the lower "lowboy" position since it puts my boots in a better spot to shift and brake, plus it gets me a little lower on the bike. Overall I think this is one of the best mods for the WR250R.
