Yamaha's website now lists the 2015 Yamaha WR250R. The blue rear fender is back for 2015, but aside from new graphics, the bike looks pretty much unchanged from previous model years (all the way back to 2008).
Once again... if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Like most dual sport bikes, the WR250R's speedometer is off by a considerable amount. And if you change your bikes gearing, it will throw the speedometer off off even more, and affect the odometer as well.
12oClockLabs offers a simple cost-effective solution, called the SpeedoDRD, that allows you to recalibrate your WR250R's speedometer. It's a very simple plug-in installation on the WRR's using the factory OEM connectors. Standard features of the SpeedoDRD include...
• Simple plug-in installation using factory OEM connectors
• Easier to setup than any other device on the market
• The smallest electronic speedometer/odometer calibration device
• Saves max speed, which can be recalled to your speedometer
• Built in testing mode to ensure proper installation
• Weather proof design to protect against the elements
• 18" wiring harness (1.5ft)
• 3 year product replacement warranty
• Made in the USA

Pictured above is my 2008 Yamaha WR250R project bike with a few new additions from Wolfman Motorcycle Luggage. Currently I have a Wolfman Enduro Tank Bag, a Wolfman Enduro Carry All Number Plate Bag, and a Wolfman Peak Tail Bag mounted to a Pro Moto Billet Cargo Rack. This is an excellent starter setup for carrying things around on your WR250R. I will be exploring a few more options, like saddlebags with side racks, at some point. Stay tuned...

Hauling stuff around on your WR250R can be a challenge. Enter Wolfman Motorcycle Luggage. Their Wolfman Enduro Tank Bag, shown above, fits the tank and seat area of the Yamaha WR250R perfectly, allowing you to carry small items in a convenient and easily accessible area of the bike.
The bag features a 4-point quick release mounting system, and the no-skid/no-scratch pad keeps it in place during the most aggressive of off-road riding. It's innovative design allows the bag to sit on the tank and not interfere with the gas cap or the vent hose. Other features include an interior mesh pocket, outter mesh pocket, removable clear map pocket, and key clip. The contents of the bag can be accessed by un-zipping the heavy duty zipper that runs around the top of the bag, and then flipping the top up. An optional waterproof cover is available as well.
You won't find a better tank bag for the WR250R!
The photos above show a Wolfman Peak Tail Bag mounted to a Pro Moto Billet WR250R Cargo Rack. This bag/rack combination works great for hauling things around on the back of your WR250R Dual Sport or Yamaha WR250X Supermoto. The tail bag fits the Pro Moto Billet rack perfectly and is secured by wrapping its four mounting straps around the outer edges of the cargo rack.
For its size, this tail bag holds a lot of stuff! The bags contents can be accessed very easily... you just un-zip the heavy duty zipper that runs around the top of the bag, then flip the top open (see photo above bottom/left). Internally, two straps keep its contents stable, and the top bungee-web is a great place to keep gloves and other things handy when off the bike. An expandable 4" gusset makes room for even more cargo when fully unzipped. The bag is stiff-sided to retain its shape and looks, whether empty or full. An optional waterproof cover is available as well.
The Wolfman Enduro Carry All is my favorite bag for carrying small personal items on my WR250R (and WR250X). The bag fits the number plate area above the headlight perfectly, and is large enough to fit my wallet, cell phone, digital camera, and keys. Installation is super easy via two straps on the top that loop around the handlebar and two straps on the bottom that loop around the lower triple clamp.
These bags mount above the headlight on virtually any dirt bike, dual sport, or supermoto. Thanks to its compact size, the bag is great alternative to a tank bag, and easilty fits lightweight items like cell phones, compact cameras, wallets, keys and extra gloves.
Everything stored inside is easily accessed via the heavy duty zipper on top. A small map pocket is included and can face the rider, stay out of the way on the front of the bag, or be removed altogether.
Motorcycle-USA.com has voted the Yamaha WR250R as the Best Dual Sport Bike of 2013.
From The Article:
"Praise for the WR250 begins with its liquid-cooled fuel-injected Single. Compared with its 250 rivals the WR bangs out a good 25% more horsepower thanks to its burly top-end. We recorded 117-miles per tank during shootout testing, also not ideal but still plenty good for a bike that bides its time in dirt and asphalt.
But it is the WR’s prowess when the pavement ends that won us over. During our 2013 250 Dual-Sport Shootout test riders were able to hit off-road obstacles at higher speeds and with less effort thanks to the impressive Soqi suspension package. The compression and rebound adjustability pay huge benefits too, and the WR also delivers a comfy ride on the pavement as well. Our tester also rated its braking performance as class-leading."
