If you're running an aftermarket exhaust system on your WR250R, like the FMF Q4 shown above, and in need of a heat shield to help keep saddle bags and other items from coming in contact with the hot exhaust, checkout the Wolfman Kiowa Heat Shield. It mounts to the muffler using stainless steel mounting clamps, and fits 3 1/2” to 5 1/2” diameter pipes.
From The Article:
"Rev the WR250R and there’s plenty of power available from the four-valve Single. In our previous test the WR was head and shoulders above its Red and Green competitors, and Yamaha carries over the same mill into 2014. It features fully adjustable front and rear suspension with 10.6-inches travel available on both ends."
"The WR250R is a great machine if you’re looking for a bike that will tackle trails and navigate street traffic with aplomb. It’s a simple package with a few choice upgrades which continue to place the WR250R at the top of the dual-sport heap."
Zeta has released a new version of their front brake rotor guard, and it is available for the Yamaha WR250R. These new "Pro Model" plastic protectors are available in White or Black plastic, and cover the front brake rotor as well as the caliper. You can also get the standard model (doesn't cover caliper) in Black Plastic or Carbon Fiber. Will not fit WR250X with larger front brake rotor.
Zeta offers these trick looking CNC Machined Aluminum Gas Caps anodized in either blue or titanium silver. They will fit the stock WR250R and WR250X gas tanks (won't fit IMS gas tanks), and are very easy to install, only requiring you to replace the stock fuel outer caps. Uni-flow vent tube and cap is included.
Yamaha's website now lists the 2015 Yamaha WR250R. The blue rear fender is back for 2015, but aside from new graphics, the bike looks pretty much unchanged from previous model years (all the way back to 2008).
Like most dual sport bikes, the WR250R's speedometer is off by a considerable amount. And if you change your bikes gearing, it will throw the speedometer off off even more, and affect the odometer as well.
